The educational Landscape in our country is undergoing rapid charges. The government has pinpointed the lack of relevant skills in the country as one of the main contributing factors to the country’s prevailing high levels of unemployment, income inequality, poverty and other manifestations of socio – economic malaise. The situation is further compounded by the unequal distribution of skills across the various sectors of society. As a solution, the government has put in place several policies and legislative instruments, such as the Skills Development Act and the SAQA Act, the NQF, the FET and the SETAs to promote the quality of skills training and education.
